Welcome back from your long weekend! I hope you all got to enjoy yourselves and get a much deserved break. I spent some of my weekend sewing and reading. I also spent a lot of time with my two kids and husband. It was a very relaxing weekend overall.
This week's prompt is very simple. I want to know what you are reading! If it is a magazine, news article, comic book, novel, chapter book, even a picture book, tell me about it! For my online classes, I am going to have to read at least 78 books between now and the beginning of December. To kick our prompt off, I am going to tell you about one of the books I am currently reading.
You may have heard of the Cirque du Freak series. My husband and I made an agreement at the beginning of last year to read the whole series together. Unfortunately, we only read together when we're on roadtrips. This summer, we finished book 10 of the series and started on book 11. We're about halfway through, and we're at a lull right now until we go to visit my older sister in Weatherford, TX, in October.
So about the series . . .
We follow the character Darren Shan, who becomes a half-vampire in book 1, as he follows his "mentor" vampire, Larten Crepsley, on a series of dangerous adventures. From facing their cousins/enemies, a group called the Vampaneze, to a trek up Vampire Mountain to meeting the girl of his dreams to facing the Trials of Initiation to becoming a Vampire Prince, Darren does something that will appeal to pretty much any lover of the dark, dangerous, and macabre. Highly recommend this series to kids of your age because it is full of adventure.

during his first year he met ron and hermini his friends. the next years harry got in trouble a lot.
cduran: Im am reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Its A Novel/Comic book. He's a kid that his mom gave him a diary instead of a journal. Now everybody makes fun of him that he has a diray.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading a book called diary of a wimpy kid dog days. It is about a boy named Greg. He writes in his diary about what he does everyday. I can't really tell you anymore just in case someone wants to read it.
ReplyDeleteJlambdin I am reading earagon it's about a boy who finds a rock. Hit turns out to be a dragon egg . He becomes a " dragon rider " and saves the world ( I think )

ReplyDeleteI like to read autobiographies on famous baseball players; the book I’m reading is The Life You Imagine, by New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. He gives 10 steps he followed to achieve his dream, and explains how anyone can use these steps to become successful. His philosophy is that if you set your goals high, that makes you push yourself harder in order of reaching them and after you reach these goals, you have to set newer, even higher ones. I believe his theory and I have tried to follow his lead so, I can become a future MLB player.

ReplyDeleteIm reading a book by the name of Runner. Its has a very suspenseful plot. Its about a kid who loves to run. He needed to help his family out so he took a job picking up packages and delivering them. I don't want to spoil it for who ever wants to read it next because its a very good book.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading a book called joey pigza swallowed the key. Its about the life of a kid with ADHD. And it is very hard for him to get all his work done. And he goes on tons of adventures, but he has not seen his mom for a long time because her and his dad left him. Will he ever find his parents? Read the book and find out.
